Vehicle 1: 2017 Subaru Forester XT

I have always loved Subaru vehicles. They're reliable and they go anywhere. Against the better judgement of people who know more about 4WD than I did at the time, I bought a 2017 Forester XT and outfitted it for overland travel. Overall, it was great on the highway and okay on dirt roads, but we would quickly run out of gearing and clearance when the roads turned to trails. It was a fun vehicle but ultimately we ended up moving on to the 4Runner.

But before we built it up for overlanding, we had to take it rally-crossing!

Then we got to work building it.
