Telecom laws can't keep up so let's scrap them if we have a competitive landscape

Nice to see that people are focusing on the right spot here. Telecom regulations were set up to deal with the fact that telecoms were oligopolies with high capital and infrastructure costs. Now that this will no longer be the case with VoIP and voice/data convergence, some U.S. lawmakers are talking about scrapping telecom regulation entirely. I’m not sure if this is the correct answer but it is certainly the correct question.
